I work on trustworthy video understanding: video models whose answers reflect what actually happens on screen. These days I'm working on latent world models.

About

I'm an undergraduate at Kyung Hee University, majoring in Artificial Intelligence, where I started in March 2024. Since September 2025 I've been a research intern at the Vision and Learning Lab, working with Prof. Jinwoo Choi.

My interests are in trustworthy video understanding. I care about whether a video model's answer is grounded in what is actually in the video, what its internal representations encode, and where the two come apart. My current work is on latent world models.

Before that, I worked with Jongseo Lee and others in the lab on motion perception in Video-LLMs. We showed that most Video-LLMs cannot tell which way an object moved, traced where the direction signal gets lost inside the model, and proposed DeltaDirect, a lightweight auxiliary objective that largely closes the gap (NeurIPS 2026).

Research interests

Trustworthy video understanding

Video-language models whose answers are grounded in the video and can be checked against it.

Latent world models

Learning representations that capture how a scene changes over time, so a model can reason about what happens next. This is what I'm working on now.

Diagnosing Video-LLMs

Finding where a model's perception breaks, tracing the signal through the pipeline, and fixing it with the smallest change that works.
